I practise clinical and health psychology, including the treatment of insomnia, with adults (age 18 and older). At this time, I supervise advanced Clinical Psychology students at the Sleep Therapy Service, part of the Queen’s University Psychology Clinic (Phone: 613 533-6021) .
I have worked in sleep research since 1981. My research and writing now focuses on insomnia and its treatment. Currently I am looking at the best ways to make effective, non-drug, treatment more available to people with insomnia. The most effective intervention is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia, or CBT-I.
My book, “Sink into Sleep. A Step-by-Step Workbook for Reversing Insomnia”, allows you to do CBT-I at home. It guides you through the same steps and strategies that we use in the clinic. For more information, please visit the website dedicated to the book: www.sinkintosleep.com.
