I practise clinical and health psychology, including the treatment of insomnia, with adults (age 18 and older). At this time, my practice is limited to patients of the Kingston Family Health Team.
I have worked in sleep research since 1981. My research and writing now focuses on insomnia and its treatment. Currently I am looking at the best ways to make effective, non-drug, treatment more available to people with insomnia. The most effective intervention is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia, or CBT-I.
My new book, “Sink into Sleep. A Step-by-Step Workbook for Reversing Insomnia”, allows you to do CBT-I at home. It guides you through the same steps and strategies that we use in the clinic. For more information, please visit the website dedicated to the book: www.sinkintosleep.com.
